The art of painting an Easter Egg

Discover the enchanting art of decorating Easter Eggs! Make acquaintance to popular craftsmanship kept for hundreds of years. Bucovina is known as being the first region from Romania where traditions are best preserved.

The workshop will begin with an introductory of all tools required for this activity and presentation of the most important symbols used for decorating the eggs: Easter Cross, Easter flower, shepherd’s path or the erring path, life tree, ear of wheat. Symbolism is prominent in the most traditions, when you’ll see a straight line on Easter Egg remember that signify life, double line signify eternity, windy line is water and double spiral represents the link between life and death. At the end of this workshop you can proudly take back home with you the traditional-painted Easter Egg and find it a good spot in your house.

• Price includes: 2 hours of learning the art of decorating Easter Eggs, a visit to Museum of Painted Eggs, (museum collection includes over 3,000 decorated eggs, coming both from Ciocanesti and other parts of Bucovina), 1 night accommodation for two, in double room, in a 3* Pension ( breakfast included)
• Transfer to Ciocanesti is not included
• Before to be painted, egg content empties through a small hole to resist as long as possible without no fissures; the egg will be prepared in advance for you
• You will have available all the necessary tools for decorating the egg
• If you wish to paint more than one egg, extra cost in the amount of 1 Ron ( EUR 0.23 ) will be applied
• Minors must be accompanied by adults

This activity is running throughout the year, from Monday to Saturday, between 9 AM and 6 PM.
